A silver-mounted Royal Doulton claret jug, in the tradition of the classic ‘harvest jugs’ originally used in C18th North Devon to carry ale or cider to the fields during harvest. This finely crafted example features a richly detailed pastoral scene in relief, evoking rural life and seasonal abundance. Topped with a hallmarked sterling silver hinged lid (London, 1905).
